Benefiting from a Christian Counselor
Many Christians want to be in therapy with someone who shares their worldview and values. I have seen how that makes a difference in therapy. My faith in God has been a guiding force in my life and has held me up when I was going through dark times that I didn’t understand.
I am Board Certified in Christian counseling so I can help teens and adults through their struggles, incorporating faith (or the struggle with it) into treatment. Call me at 501-547-1347 and I can answer your questions about therapy.
Here are some questions and problems that you might relate to:
- “Why does God not hear my prayers and fix my problems?”
- “How do I get back the close relationship with God that I used to have, now that my life is so messed up?”
- “I don’t even feel like praying or reading my Bible, what do I do?”
Maybe you are a pastor and you don’t have anyone to turn to for support. Or maybe you are a church-goer and you have been hurt by church experiences. You might feel shame about what you have experienced and don’t know how to get back to relating to God the way you used to.
If you don’t know what to do in the relationships that are hard for you and you think that God is angry and disappointed in you, Christian counseling can help. Maybe you feel tired from trying to measure up. God is a loving and patient Healer and I strive to walk with Him and to provide Biblical counseling to help in your journey toward healing.
My Approach to Christian Therapy
Our lives are a gift from God and it is important for us to stay connected to Him and His strength. In addition to being a Licensed Professional Counselor, I am a Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor through IBCC (International Board of Christian Care). If you are looking for a counselor who has Christian values and follows Christian principles that can guide the counseling process, I will incorporate that into therapy. Having someone who shares your faith to walk alongside you during a trying time in your life is invaluable. At times, there can be prayer and reading of Scripture during sessions if you want that.
